Buckled Wheel

I had some new tyres installed on the weekend, (Falken Zeis 326 245/40ZR18) and while the wheel guy was balancing the last tyre he called me over and showed me a slight buckle in one of my rims. He said come back after Xmas and they would send it off to get fixed.
Has anyone had this happen before? (and had it fixed)
There are no marks on the rim and I can't remember going through any big pot holes.

Cheers
Scotty

same thing happened to me - when putting on new tyres, noticed both LH side wheels were buckled - tho' I do remember a fairly nasty pot hole!

Did you go sideways into a kerb?
I did, n it was definitely buckled.
It's weird if there were no scuffs or anything.

how are you finding the Falken Zeix 326?

have read a few times that the factory wheels are easily buckled, for a factory wheel...

The Falken Zeix 326 are going well - they have only been on for three days but are certainly quieter than factory tyres (not hard to achieve) seem to have good grip (hasnt rained here yet) and look good. At A$260 each, fitted and balanced, they are great value. They are non directional (unlike the more expensive 512's) so are easy to rotate.

The old factory tyres had a weird wear pattern - The inside edges all tyres (especially the fronts) were worn down at 45 degrees. Its like the front wheels have a bit too much camber.
Has anyone seen this before?

no, not a sideways kerb hit - definitely a buckle from a pot hole - only noticeable on the inside of the rim. Anyone selling a couple of standard rims?

Mate I was looking for a factory rim a few weeks ago (https://www.rx8club.com/australia-new-zealand-forum-37/anyone-have-spare-stock-rim-tyre-sale-77748/) so I can definately attest to the "softness" of the factory rims.

I'm from around that area but I didn't get it fixed there. Perhaps you could provide prices of that place in Smithfield that way people can see what sort of stuff they should be getting charged. It seems to be happening alot lately... Plus for future reference.
Mine was fixed at:
1/9 Field close
Moorebank 2170 NSW
0418 613 566...was repaired for 250. Major damage. No cracks.
