Cool Squeaky Brakes on new RX8

I have 5K miles on my 05' RX8. For the last week or so the brakes have been squeaking loudly the majority of the time I apply them. Any suggestions on what this could be with such low mileage? Thanks

look up brake bedding on the net, and give it a try. I've noticed that I really don't use the brakes a whole lot when commuting. This always leads to squeaking for me. I re-bed the brakes and it goes away for a while. Worth a shot, anyway.

check the DIY forums. i'm sure you'll find a thread on how to fix it yourself if you don't want to take your car anywhere

Yep - there's a TSB. Mazda has a revised part number for the front pads. I had mine done 2500 miles ago, and I haven't had a single sqeak since. The service advisor didn't want to do the work though. He kept claiming that he couldn't find it, until I gave him the actual bulletin number. Rosenthal's website has a list of all the TSBs - get the number and have it ready just in case.

the dealer i went to said that since the breaks were "normal wear and tear" they wouldn't check the squaky part of them under warranty....

Verify if your VIN falls under the validity of the TSB and if yes, show that to the dealer.
