Question OT: Best place to live?

OK, serious quesiton...

Where in the US should an RX-8 owner/technologist/software development manager move to best enjoy 4 seasons, good family life, and great driving roads year-round (i.e. snow, but not too much snow)?

The West Coast (California/Oregon/Washington). It's where I'd like to move soon. The warm drafts flowing up the coast from the south help eliminate most of the winter snow (there is plenty of precipitation, but not much actual snow). The terrain out there is just gorgeous; mountains and rivers galore. Another member on the site was nice enough to send me a vid of his local RX-8 meet from Washington State, and I was very impressed. The roads looked like a blast.

Huntsville AL meets all of your requirements.

Don't expect snow on the ground much more than 1-2 times per year, but the cost of living is quite low comparatively speaking.

The infamous Tail of the Dragon is just a few hours away, but plenty of hills for great Sunday drives are just outside Huntsville.

Are you tiring of the Tampa area Jeff?

I like the Atlanta area. Has a good change of seasons, but barely a snowfall a year. Plus you have Road Atlanta and Barber close by. Also Tail of the Dragon is only a 2 hour drive. It is far enough from the coast to not worry about hurricanes. Cost of living in the suburbs is still relatively reasonable. Jobs are plentiful. And lots of Interstates that lead to most places you would want to drive to visit other tracks, family, vacation.

Birmingham seems to fit your requirements as well.

Alabama is one of this country's best kept secrets and as far as I'm concerned the perfect place to live.
