Mazda3 wheels

Will 17" OEM Mazda 3 wheels fit on an RX-8?

I've searched the forum but haven't found any definate answers.

hmm well the wheels are 5 lug.......but will they clear the brake caliper? the 3's brakes are smaller than ours. i dont' think you'll find it on the forum......b/c i have never heard of anyone doing it. i asume they woudl fit b/c the auto 8's coem with 16" rims.....but you know what they say about asssumptions

The auto also has smaller brakes than the manual. 16's will not fit a manual 8.

I don't know for sure, but I'm almost certain that people put OEM RX-8 wheels on Mazda 3s, which would indicate that the reverse could occur. Of course, they'd have to be 17", at least. 16s won't fit over our brakes. 17s will, though. I've got 17" snow wheels/tires. It might be possible to find a set with the TPMS already in them, too.
