Navigation and voice commands...

I hope someone can clear this up for me. When I first bought my 2004 8 I was under the impression that you could voice command it to do stuff. I thought I read this on Mazda's website back over a year ago. After I bought it I realized that I must have been mistaken and that it meant it gave me voice commands.

However...

I was fooling around and replayed the demo for the Nav on Mazda's site. It does say:

"just enter - or say - your destination"
This is what I remember reading back in 2003 as well.

Can anyone verifiy as to whether or not this is true or that I am crazy.

I believe the 2006 version will have that capability.

The current models do not accept voice commands, despite the little button that says "voice".

Then why are they advertising it for the 2005 models as it is? (as well as the 2004).

The 06' models have voice, all previous years do not. The "voice" button is to hear the computer voice state or repeat an instruction (i.e. turn left or stay left).

No, it says it on Mazda's website under the 2005 model and it also said it under the 2004 model year.

Follow this link:

http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/disp...ehicleCode=RX8

Once there, click on "Interior" on the 8 picture.

Then, click on "Navigation System"

Then click on "Demo"

Then click on "Driving Example" and then "Play"

The first text that pops up says "just enter -or say- your destination and the system tells you how to get there". This is the exact same demo that played on their website for the '04's.

I am not crazy!
