and people bitch about RX-8 recalls

they all seem kinda tame compared to this in terms of severity and scale:

No joke. Lots people in my town generally think American is the best, imports are too small, etc. When I mention build quality, efficiency, innovation, and other qualities, they say things like," Well, they can't hold eight people at a time!" Who cares? At least they usually won't catch fire...

The more and more we become a litigious society the more and the more we will see recalls. I think most of them are put a bit out of proportion anyway. It used to be these type of things were ignorede. Now they recall everything. It does not bother me. I would rather they ask me to come back in for incremental improvements.

kinda like how Micro$oft has trained us to pay up in advance for barely adequate software, and then wait for 'service packs' huh :o

Well, number-wise they win, but I think the gas tank 'leaking' (code for exploding) and 'ball socket failure' (code for no steering so you will crash) is pretty bad. At least there are people out there that force the auto companies to fix their mistakes.

I know, I never understood the complaining about recalls with the RX8? Almost all new cars end up with a few recalls...it happens.

people should not bitch about recalls every car has them what people should complain about is when you go in for recalls and tell them about other problems them trying to lie and say its not under warranty because it abuse even if its something like a foul smell coming from the blower. i ask myself whats the point of having a warranty when no one wants to honor it

the only thing good about ameircan POS cars is that the parts go bad so often it's cake to get the parts at a local auto parts store. I have a 2001 civic that crapped an alternator. god know how many gen7 civics there are out there that have the same alternator. It's a 3-7 day special order almost everywhere.

Yeah, I was gonna say, the potential failures on the 8 are also pretty bad.
