I have set up a website for us to keep organized, I hope. A calendar of events is on the right hand side and I have made it as concise as possible with links to threads here and to the site of the event (if applicable). This will allow us to discuss all issues as we are at present here on this site and keep us from maintaining any kind of forum ourselves. We can always link from here to the site to view something. You can kind of consider it an extension from this site.

Right now there is only the one page but we will be expanding it in the future.

Anytime you have an additional event you are adding to this site you should let me know so I can make sure it is applied to our calendar of events.

I will be setting up a "Past Events" section that will include images/vids.

For now, lets see how this goes and let me know if you have any suggestions.

Yea, I'd like to get a new group shot with everyone. I wonder if we should plan a lunch or dinner event sometime just for that purpose? If we make something that doesn't require a full day but just a few hours, that may be the best way to get it.

OK, This is an official request for a GA RX8Club Photo session! Lets get a group shot with as many of us as possible. Let's make it a lunch or dinner thing and at an area we can get all the cars together. Lets do it before it starts getting cold and ugly outside. I hereby table this for discussion! (Smack of the gavel)

You shoudl set up a seperate thread for this, so everyone knows about it. I also meant to ask you, where is the shirt place in lawrenceville? that is where I go to school so it would be easy for me to just go from there.

Great website Silver8. Thanks for putting in the effort. I'm sure it'll get used as more people see it. There is an autocross down where I am in October I'd like to post.

Yea, I think every member should have his own page to present his car and links to images/vids. The photo session coming up at Andretti's will be the home page photo.

I do like the website, it is looking good. I like the idea of each club member getting his/her own page. That would be cool.

 

I was thinking of having a link from the home page to the members page. We could use the RX8club user names and link to PM someone right from there. It should feel like an extension of this site when it's functioning properly. The header could include your car or something personal like that. I'll come up with a template for us to use. It will not be interactive unless I can get my son to set it up using PHP. That'd be really cool if he could do that. Then you guys could update your images and text on your own. That is wishful thinking cause my son is really busy at college. Yea, right!

 

Guys, we need to make some decisions about what we are going to do with this site. Today I ran out of space on my server and had to take down a movie, Sorry trhoads, I'll get it back up as soon as I can.

 

no worries, my driving skills are far less superior to some of the other videos you have.

What is the next step, what do we need to do. Do we need to commit some money to server space, let us know. I am sure we can get it taken care of.

OK, here's the deal:

My web hosting account (silvereightstudio.com) has reached a maximum number in it's "File Allocation", so I will personally have to take care of this issue. The GARX8Club.com site is something we must address ASAP. Here is my suggestion.

StartLogic: $70.50 for the year in advance (Special this weekend only)

A few itemes of interest:
- 5 GIGS
- Unlimited Emails (Everyone who is a member could have an "garx8club.com" email address)
- Forum

I think it's time to start collecting annual dues which will cover the use of the site, allow someone to post their movies and images, etc.

I'm not really all that fimilar with the wiki thing, but we have one at work that we just mess with and it looks like we might be able to use it for our club site. How many members we have? $70 divided so many ways isnt going to be that much at all. I think we could do this. What's everyone else think?

OK, what do you say we establish a annual membership? Do you guys want me to go ahead and set it up this weekend and let Nabil reimburse me for the webhosting account set-up. I also paid for the domain name at $12 per year. I think we should make the Andretti's an annual event and kick off the new season every year. Photo, fun and registration. Can we set a membership fee and establish what the fee is for? I think everyone should pay the same amount, not just a few that want to use the site to it's full potential. (5, 10, $15???). Does anyone have an idea how many are actually envolved with us?

The introductory price of $70.50 is just for the first year. The price will go up to $7.50 per month ($6.50 if purchased 2 years in advance).
