im curious which kit you all like better, the Mazdspeed kit or the Vertex Lang kit

I say vertex for the simple fact that 8 out of 10 people with bodykits on their 8 have the mazdaspeed. Do something different. Plus the vertex kit is the best looking kit available imo.

 

I've never really understood this reasoning. Yes, most people in this forum that have body kits , have the Mazdaspeed. Although, not many people in your area will have this kit. I've only seen 2 8's with the kit and 1 of them was at the dealership.
I say go for what looks best and fits best. With the MS (authentic one) there's no painting and the fit is perfect. Most others will need to be painted and the fit isn't perfect. Plus it just looks right, the others seem like an afterthought.

Bottom line, it's whatever your tastes are.

 

exactly! It all comes down to tastes. When the prototype mazdaspeed body kit pix first came out on the net i nearly shat my pants. I couldn't believe how beautiful that kit was. Overtime I was seeing a lot of it and grew a little tired of it. To me what made it worse was seeing all those knock offs and how poor the quality was. On the other hand the vertex kit is still some what new. When the pics for the vertex kit first came out I had the same feeling I had when the mazdaspeed kit came out. Bottom line, all about preference.

Yeah, I feel the exact same way. I first saw the ms kit before the car even came out. I literally stared at it for like 5 min. Now it's still nice, just nothing special. But it all comes down to the preference of the buyer. If you just want a straight bolt on kit get the ms. If you want something that really going to turn heads, that you may have to put some extra work into in terms of fitment, get the vertex.

 

Exactly. the Mazdaspeed kit looks great and works with the curves of the car. However, when you have an 8, your unique. Why not go overboard and get a kit that unique. :D

Plus I've seen Fe3p's car (the vertex lang up there) and it was beautiful.

 

Both look good, but right now the Vertex looks better. More curves. I really like it. One question though, not having any experience with Japanese Fiberglass, I always hear people talk about how Japanese fiberglass is always better. How good is it? How does it wear in the long term, say one year down the road? Is it really not intended for that and most people will swap out to what is the latest anyway? For long term, it is preferable to just go with the Mazdaspeed?

Wing.........Vertex Lang
Nose.........Toss Up, but slight edge to Vertex Lang

Both are nice looking kits. I've yet to see ANY body kits on any Rx-8 on the road, so even though the MS may be "old school" on this forum, it will turn as many heads as the Vetex Lang (or any other kit for that matter) as 99% of the people that see it will think it's as nice as the first time you saw the MS Kit.

Plus, I always think it's a good ideas to stay OEM

 

i think the vertex lang is the best looking kit for the 8. but go with whatever YOURE taste fits the best.

 

for me i would choose Vertex IF the car is black.. =)
the kit looks very good in black but not guarantee looks good in other color..
and also i find the mazdaspeed rear bumper looks better than vertex...
they both r very good looking kit tho

 

I know and honestly i like the idea that the car is very different so going overboard is prolly what id do but i just want to hear other opinions as opposed to my own. thanks fo all the opinions!

either way, you can't go wrong. I spoke with FE3P (owner of vertex rx8) before he purchased the vertex kit and he told me that he was about to get the MS kit but then he got a great deal on the vertex kit. Im glad he got it though.

 

I say be different. Go with the V. Lang :D

 

I like them both & I have the MS but I definately wouldn't mind having the Vertex Lang. It's a toss up so flip a coin if you still cant decide .

 

I say forget those kits and get the Tsunami kit. Much better.
