Figured I would see if anyone else has done this already and who they recommend. I asked one place in Frederick and they wanted $250 to do the car - which I think is high. Also, what is the going rate on getting an 8 tinted and what tint did you do in it? Thanks.

 

I would also like to know if anyone knows the % of the factory tint that is on the windows? My old car had 77% factory tint (which I didn't know) so even if I put 35% tint on I still would have been below 35%, because 35% of 77% is 26.95%, so I really needed to put 50% tint on my factory 77% tint to get me to 38.5% tint which would be legal in MD?

I just had a bad experience with my tint. I put 35 on, at a place called ultimate detail on the hingham/weymouth line. I got pulled over about 2 weeks ago and the meter that the state trooper had said 18%. I was pissed and didn't believe it. I went back to where i got it done and now there is a new owner. It's called cochran detail now. The guy that put mine on now does tinting commercially from his trucks. I've called him more than 5 times already and still no call back. I'm going to court for this b/c i had no idea the percentage was so low. I also have the reciept that states it's 35%. his name will definitely come up at court and hopefully i get this resolved. I had to take the tint off myself yesterday so i wont get another ticket. When getting your tint done i suggest that you have them show you a meter reading once they are finished. They should have one at the shop. Cochran detail did.Just a heads up.
