Funny how Mazda already sold so many RX8s yet i havn't seen any on the street in both Hong Kong or Mainland China... lol...

Also China don't sell the Mazda3 yet... lol.... not until next year.... but they are priced way cheaper i think....

I move to Guangzhou at the begining of the month, and I have seen lots of Mazda6's, but not a single RX8.

Overall the flow of traffic does not seem to encourage the kind of driving which makes an RX-8 fun...

Maybe in the cities, have you seen the highways! Some of them are hardly used and is empty, especially when you get out west a little more. No cops but lots of crazy drivers....

I am really mostly in the city, and have gone for a car and driver instead of driving myself... I do miss my RX-8 (which I sold before moving )

The 8 is simply not popular yet in HK or China given the lack of understanding and interest in the rotary engine combined with the lack of of qualified service technicians there. However, I would expect that to change soon if Mazda/Ford is serious on penetrating this massive market. Rising crude prices will of course have a negative effect in the short term.

mdmaclean...you might still be able to get another 8 there yet...at least they drive on the same side of the car and road as what you're used to

i've seen a few RX-8 in hk... mind u hk has lots of different kinds of car... seens GT-rs, Evolutions.... no rx7 tho.... but in China.... u'll be lucky if u even OWN a car.... the import tax is so crazy that u could buy another car with it...(100% tax)... lol... but now i think it's tax now but still quite expensive... so u'll have to be pretty rich to own any kind of cars....
