Hey I spotted a Blue 8 that began with 5jkx down by SBC and I also saw a Black 8, also down by sbc, forgot the first part of the plate, I wasn't in my 8 drove down with my superviser in his new Accord (very nice).

 

I spot a lot of 8's every now and then, I kinda gave up mentioning it on the board cause 9/10 they're not members. I did spot sounddave (black 8 w/gold rims on one side) one time in mccarthy ranch.

 

Yeah, same here, most of the ones I see are women who don't even acknowledge another 8

 

Just to stick up for some of the ladies.......we are not ALL oblivious you know. I'm a girl and I make a point of waving at other 8's on the road. However most of the time they try to figure out if they know me or think I am just flirting . How about just giving the ladies the same love and respect?

No hard feelings tho - really :D

 

That's why I just make it a habit to wave to the modified ones. I'm getting sick of waving to other rx8s but getting blank stares or the snobby/nose in the air look.

 

Maybe they don't recognize you, and think you're just some wild drunk girl trying to get attention... :p :D

The ones I see are also mostly oblivious. Had one guy cutting through our work parking lot (in Sunnyvale) who I spoke with a few times. Mostly, if I slow down and drive next to them, give people a wave or a thumbs up, I either get a blank stare or worse.

Not like the old days where we ended up with 6 first-gen RX-7s coming down from Sacto (4 abreast) on 80, none of us new each other, we just joined in at different times and formed a convoy :D

Mostly, I drive on 880 between 238 and 237 and on 237.

 

I'll make sure to keep an eye out for a girl in a white rx8 waving at me :D

what color 8 do you drive? I drive by 238 and 880 a lot too. Mostly in my beater.

I too see a lot of 8's and wave at whomever is driving. Sometimes I get a wave back or I get the nose up in the air. O'well I'll continue to wave.... and be on my way!!!!

When did you see the car? I only had it two-toned for about a week last summer cuz I couldn't finish both sides in two days. It's been gold all over for a while now. Yah, the RB exhaust tips are pretty beefy. That was one of the reasons I chose RB.

I gave up on waving at RX-8s, I usually just ignore them. So if you see me I am not being an *******, just not into saying HI. I do remember though the first week I had the 8, about a year agao and some months. I chased down a Silver 8 going from San Francisco accross the bridge to Oakland. Some asian girl I presume she was going to the Berkeley side, she made me catch up to her, then I missed my exit. lol. Anyways she was driving pretty nuts, pretty much like I do every day.
