Has anyone tried out the mid-ohio track school? The prices arent bad and seems like a good program. Any input?

 

Are you talking about the Defensive driving courses they offer or the High Performance Driving schools?

If your lookign for the 2nd you may want to keep your eyes open for private clubs that have lapping days, they usually costs around $300 - $500

I beleive the Mid-Ohio schools start at like $600 - $700 right?

I'm looking into this school also. I have a manager that went to the two day High Performance classes (he took his Camaro) and said he had a blast. He said the instructors were very good and the exercises were informative. One bad this was that one of the participant almost hit him because the fool forgot that he needs to keep his foot on the accelerators around the turns. Instead he lifted off and when you are in a FWD, that will cause oversteer. Anyways, the RSX was hitting towards at high speeds!!

After talking to him, I was convinced that these classes should be fun and informative.

I went to the first day of the performance school. it was great I used there car (RSX). The instructors were great and taylord there comments to your skill level. There is 45 minutes of track time, the rest of the day was drills in the parking lot. If you just want track time the cheaper way is www.NASA.com it is about $170 for a day. I live in Columbus and there is not going to be any a Midohio for the rest of the year unless the schedule changes. But, there is a track day at beaver run raceway ( a little north if Pittsburgh,PA) on sept 3. I plan on attending that even to distroy the remains of my factory tires to but on all season tire for winter. Let me know if you want a more detailed discription of the drills you do at the school.
