New Owner Introduction

Been lurking for a bit and then finally registered last week (thanks for the help Omicron). I thought I'd say hello...

I'm an Englishman living in DFW, Texas and after 10 years of Miata ownership (I just sold my third), I finally took the plunge and picked up my 05 Shinka two weeks ago. I thought I'd never find a car to beat the Miata but this seems to be it!!!

I'm getting lazy in my old age and so went for the AT. I like it, especially Play Station Mode, and the Mrs. is also a big fan.

I've picked up some good tips while lurking, thanks to all.

Still running it in but I've seen more Texas back roads in the last two weeks than I have in the previous 7 years I've been in the US.

Back to the dealer for the license tags in the morning... ahhhh... another excuse to drive the long way round....

I've found some scratches in the paint - nothing too deep. I've asked the dealer to polish them out when I get there tomorrow. What do you reckon... let the dealer do it or have a go myself?????

Congrats, Brainstorm. Is it true some roads in Texas have no speed limits?

Just baby her for the proper break-in period and have fun.

Good place for paint questions is the Show And Shine forum. I've learned a lot there.

I've never heard of any Texas roads with no speed limits. Maybe some native Texan's can comment.

By the way, I let the dealer do the polishing and they did a superb job - the guy spent two hours detailing the car.

no there were some states that didn;t have an official speed limit ( montana & nebraska IIRC and a couple others ) however feds threatened to pull highway funding so now it's 75 mph.
