I sure can...I really like that Subie too, and If I was in the snow or snow areas...I might have gone that way...well, if it was a little cheaper that is.

The car is definitely understandable if you're dealing with a lot of snow, though I've heard the 8 isn't bad with the proper footwear.

BTW, shouldn't the thread title say "it's not an rx8 AND it's fast"?

See I was thinking more along the lines of "it's not an RX-8 but it's faster" :p

Nice choice...of all the subbie's I think the Legacy is the best looking one. They actually look normal, as oposed to that boxy look that subaru seems to love so much...enjoy it with no regrets...

I don't know why everyone has this weird idea that the 8 is bad in the snow.

Nice car though, confusedone.

I don't think it's bad it's just never going to be as good or as fun as AWD in snow.

Good: AWD
Fun: RWD

I dunno. When I spend hours detailing my car I want to like the looks of my work. That wouldn't do it for me. Ike sure does like to remind that a car is faster then the 8. Just saying...

its not that the rx-8 is not a good snow car, its that all full time rear wheel drive cars are just not as good in snow. A couple of times on my way up to Killington VT my jeep (part time 4X4) wouldn't have made it if it wasn't in 4x4 drive.

maybe u should've waited for the Mazdaspeed 6 before jumping to the LGT. Keepin' it in the Mazda clan. hehehehe.... enjoy your LGT. I test drove it and was very impressed with the punch of acceleration. If only it has HIDs....
But the rx-8 looks better! :D

I hope the snow issue wasn't your deciding factor. Ask any of ther RX8 owners from Calgary and they will tell you all you need to do is slap on a set of winter tires (like you should for any car in the winter) and you're goos to go.

Made it though the winter...never got stuck and had no problem getting up any hill.

Good choice....I too have a LGT and love it!

The two cars are very different. In a nutshell the 8's cornerstone is handling, the LGT's is power. Pick your poison. If you wanna mod a car, the LGT is the way to go.

No shortcomings for me. Plenty fast enough and much better looking. That thing has definite shortcomings in the looks dept.
