buying used 626, any one owned one?

im buying a 1993 maz 626 the V6 one with power everything as a second car to keep the miles off my 8 lease and save on discount for insurance, ha only $100 extra a year for liability. also better gas mileage for this car then the 8. Anyway this car is the top of the line model for that year just without leather and it has 171,000 mi. on it. im picking it up for $500 from what i can tell the car runs pretty well and the paint and interior is near perfect i think it must have been garaged. So has anyone owned a 626 is there any common problems with them? or should i get a different used car.

I owned a 93 probe gt - same chassis/engine/trans as the 626...

http://forums.probetalk.com - LOTS of info there...the best kL-series information source on the web.

My friends first car was a 1990 626 4-cyl, From burnouts to wrecks to just plain abuse it's pretty much indestructible.

Don't ever buy a 626 unless you like paying for problems just to keep it running.

Seriously worst car we've ever bought.

For $500, maybe it's worth taking a chance. If it breaks down, trash it.
