I just bought my rx-8 two days ago! I have been having a blast. Well I sent my little brother out to get something out of the trunk and he came back in crying. I guess he closed the trunk a little hard and broke the top of my taillight cover. I know I can get a replacement from a local dealer but I was thinking maybe you guys might know of any aftermarket taillights? If you could just give me the names and maybe a web address for some aftermarket taillights. Thanks.

I've seen altezzas for the 8 in Super Street, but its safe to say they probably fit as bad as they looked.

Just get some stock tails and smoke them.

 

Maybe I'm still fuzzy from last night but it seems I do recall a TSB on the taillights issue.
Not sure what year or vin #'s it was for. I can't seem to get the TSB page from Rosenthal to load so I can't tell for sure. It pertained to the trunk lid hitting the taillight housing and could possibly damage it. Can anyone here confirm this?

 

Thanks for the info guys. Does anybody have any picks of smoked tail lights? I would like to see before I try on my own.

 

Look at the TSB and get it fixed for FREE.
