South Bay Area Wheel/Rim Repair Shops

Hi RX8forums --

I need to find a really good rim repair shop. I curbed my rims trying to enter an extremely narrow garage entrance. The width of the entrance was slightly smaller than the width of my car; no sign indicated how narrow it really was. I scratched over 1/2 the 19" rim. I just need to ensure who I go to can fix it well since its my rear rim and the chrome lip looks good again.

Thanks,
Alex

ps: the rims are Racing Hart CX's

I BROKE my rim on the freeway earlier. Don't know what I hit but it tore up my front bumper, tore a 6-8 in chunk out of my rim, and messed up my alignment. I was on my way to the dyno meet in san jo. Can't say I'm a happy camper.

that really sucks! it seems that this weekend, for myself, hasn't been the best for my rx8. Are you going to use insurance to cover the damage? I know I did when that sh*t happened to me. Luckily, the bumper was under $2500, so they just cut a check to put the car back to the same condition when it got damaged.

wheel techniques in santa clara (408) 866-5859
wheel techniques they charge about 125-175 depending on how bad the bent rim is. for curb rims they charge a lil bit less that than the above price. turn around time is 3-5 days.

the wheel palace in san jose (408)971-8966 not sure on price either

team three wheels in san leandro (510)-895-8150

Well I already ordered a bodykit about a 1-2 months ago, and I'm waiting for it to arrive, and I planned on getting new rims sometime in the near future, so more than likely everything will be out of pocket. I just didn't want to rush the rim search, but I NEED rims now. I think I'm going to go with ADR gunmetal cyphers. 18x8.5. I'll keep my stock tires, and just change them out when I need new ones. No point in wasting tires. I was bidding on one stock wheel on ebay, but the final price was $145+ shipping, which is a little bit much in my opinion.

The Gunmetal would look on your car ... Maybe since I'll be at wheeltechniques .. I may have them turn the inner spokes to gunmetal .. but how much $$ is what I'm thinking. I'm tired of shining those damn spokes, figure gunmetal would save me wheel cleaning time
