Cool...I used to ski up there on Travis when I could get the time ....Do you take outsiders. I still have my 8 in the painting phase, but I need a road trip badly.

Hey guys, a bunch of us from the DFW area will be taking a road trip to Austin the weekend of April 22. I noticed that there's something planned every weekend in April but this one... perhaps we could all get together for a massive 8 meeting?

Yeah, or give us some ideas as far as anything going on in Austin for that weekend? Like will "girls gone wild" be there or something like wet t-shirt contests, bikini contests, drunk girls flashing random people contests? You get the idea.

Thats it............if girls will go wild, then I think it would only be wise that I attend for observational purposes.

Talking Dallas visit 4/22

If you want to drive the back roads, I recommend the 4/16th Willow City Bluebonnet Run; problem is for Fri. 6th St. party goers that it meets @ 9:30am. Sat., leaves 10:00am. and is a fairly long run past Fredericksburg, then back to Austin. Drivers will have to be/stay sober. Lack of sleep can be down right
hazardous to your beloved rotary as well as your health on these tight, winding county roads.

If you want to party all Friday night night, better to take a late Sat. drive to (Pace Bend Park or wherever on) Lake Travis with chicken, beer and a rented ski/party boat/watercraft on the weekend of 4/22. Jackie in Dallas from here temporarily can guide you to what & where; she hangs out with the RX8 Club there. LD.

Now, why does the words Pace Bend Park sound so familar, humm..... Its been awhile since I toured the camp, just was wondering, is that rope swing on that one tree still there on the cliff edge?

No, its either primitive camping(which is no accomadations, you rough it with what you bring, find a sight, pitch a tent)or you can bump up to the presidential suite and get electricity, running water, you still either pitch a tent, bring your R.V or sleep in you car......... I'm loving this. :p Still theres a fee to get in . punch in pace bend park on the web, it should explain the peticulars of the location.
hummmmm maybe hippy hollow

I can't believe that you guys are going down to Fredricksburg and not taking the drive past Enchanted Rock up to Cooper's BBQ in Llano!!! Neat twisty roads, but have to watch out for deer.

Austin To-do: Lime Creek Road

If you out of town visitors want the twisties, find Lime Creek Road just west of Cedar Park. You can enter at the north end off of FM 1431 (Whitestone Blvd in Cedar Park terminology), or the south end crosses FM 620 at Volente Road/Anderson Road (name change as it crosses 620...north is Volente). Lime Creek is posted 40mph and you occasionally get up past that, only to have a blind hairpin slam you down to earth. Its listed as one of the top ten motorcycle roads in TX.

Just a reminder that the monthly meeting is this Wednesday, April 6th. The weather looks like it'll be much better than the last few meetings so why not come on out and visit!

So Adrian doesn't mind having all us DFWers showing up at his place at 11pm that night.

What? You weren't all leaving at 3:00PM to get to Pflugerville by 7:00PM?

Unfortunately it was the better of the two weekends for our host.
