Track school - high performance and race licensing in Alberta

Hello to all Western Canadian 8s

The Western Canadian Motorsport Association(www.wcma.ca) holds and annual race licensing and high-performance school at RaceCity in Calgary every spring.

This will be of interest to those of you who would like to learn how to run on a track to get the most out of yourself and your sports car.

This year the school will be held on April 30 / May 1. Anyone interested feel free to pm me or look at the WCMA web site for info.

As an aside, there are several active rotary racers here in Alberta!

You get to use your own car? Cool! I was looking at another racing school where you have to use their cars...

Yes; you do get to use your own car. This year's session will be the 18th consecutive school held at RaceCity and we've had people attend with all kinds of cars over the years.

Having a hard time navigating around the website...I can't seem to find more information on this school for April 30 / May 1. Can you give me a direct link?

Under 'what's new' there is a link to a registration form. The WCMA web site is aimed more at providing the race community the info. they need to compete. For instance you can find the car classification and preparation rules, race operating procedures, etc.

If you have specific questions I'd be happy to answer them.

So after I fill out/submit the driving school application form, it looks like I'll also need a Race License form ($45) from here:
http://www.wcma.ca/racing_forms.htm

I guess I'll also need all the other forms, as well? (car number application, tech inspection, medical form)...or will they be provided when I show up for the school?
