FYI.. More accessories pricing.

I called my dealer and got some pricing info. on additional accessories not priced by RX-EVolved yesterday.

Aldehyde Filter............................................ .$Price Not Avail.
Car Cover Cable Lock....................................$ Price Not Avail.
In-Dash 6-Disc CD Changer............................$534.45
In-Dash 6-Disc CD Changer Trim Panel.............$26.00
Cargo Net .................................................$ 45.50
Front Sunshield......................................... ..$52.00

Rear Door Trim Protectors (2)...................... $32.50

I tried to get a price on three items with the XX color code. My parts dept. could not locate (go figure) what the code that should be in place of the XX so I could get no price. Mayby RX-EVolved could get the color codes for the accessories from his dealer and post. I see that his dealer priced the Leather Parking Brake Lever so I am sure they have it or that the codes do actually exist.

Below are the Accesories as taken from RX-EVolved's Post on 6/2.

Aluminum Accelerator Pedal (A/T)....... $105.00
Aluminum Brake Pedal (A/T)............... $ 95.00
Aluminum Foot Rest (A/T)................... $ 25.00

Question

I stopped by the dealer today to order some of the accessories since I'm told "it's on the boat"...3-4 weeks for delivery. I got a little different info though.

Polished Front Rotary Accent.............$73.50
(guess it's $15.75 smaller than the rear?)
Wheel centers w/Rotary emblem.......$48.50
" " " Mazda " ........$37.50

Does this mean my 18" wheels have no wheel centers??? The parts folks didn't know! Not only that, but they called the Parts "Hotline" and I couldn't even order anything yet.

The color codes, apparently are just letters corresponding to the colors. For example, the Car Cover ($262.50) is black w/red, blue, yellow or gray. The Black/Red code is 0000-8J-K01-BR; Black/Blue is 0000-8J-K01-BB, and so on.

Full Front Mask w/o front air dam.....$131.25
Aluminum Door Sill Trim Plates..........$283.50!!!
w/Rotary Emblem

It may be a better choice to wait for the aftermarket for some of this stuff, particularly the mask and car cover. Also, it's hard to tell what's on the car until it gets here, e.g., does the leather with the GT package include a leather Parking Brake Lever??? And I'm relatively sure the 6MT/GT comes with the Aluminum Pedal Set (which I think is only for the auto. trans.) And just what the helll is an "Aldehyde Filter"? The Parts lady didn't know..

Finally, does anyone know about the "Night Lights"($105.00)? In the footwells? Can they be turned off?:D

Leather Hand Brake: Fairly certain does not come standard with any package and/or manual.

6MT/GT comes with the Aluminum Pedal Set: YES it does.

What the helll is an "Aldehyde Filter"?: Check this out:

Tybee.. you are purchasing yours at Fairway right?

I just called them today hence my post. If so, they apparently figured out what the color codes were since I called.

Thanks, but...

"Aldehydes are chemical compounds that, in gaseous form, are harmful to the human body and have a strong, irritating odor. They are said to cause "sick house syndrome" by triggering allergic reactions such as headaches and dizziness as well as other symptoms associated with chemical irritation."

This is from the site! It MAY not leak, but I don't want to find out. Think I'll stick with plain 'ol charcoal!

the aldeydes are in the materials used in making the car as well as in ciggerrette smoke as well as in other normal things. the filter removes them from the air. it filters out the aldeheydes.

If the 250ish price for the fender strakes is correct someone spend the money and send them to me and I will CNC copy them and sell them for 50 each. 250 is insane.

Totally... $250 is a bit too much for those 4 little strakes. Also for the exhaust finisher. I will wait and see if they might drop the price down later, or those dealers' special and get discount of them. How many ppl are getthing the exhaust finisher?

i would love to get the exhaust finishers, but there is the all important factor. With all the other options i got there is no way i can pay 250.00 right now. Hopefully these prices go down because they are just astronimcal.

Right. I stood at the parts counter while the woman called the "hotline" to find out. Still wouldn't let me order anything though...said to call back once in a while to check. That is, as of now, MazdaUSA has none of the accessories available for order despite the brochure, parts nos., etc. Amazing!

regarding the fender strakes, rotary accents, and the exhaust finishers, i'm gonna try to buy them from a Japanese dealer...it seems the US is only going to get the polished aluminum ones that are chrome...i don't want chrome unless i change my rims to chrome...i want the fender strakes, rotary accents, and exhaust finishers to match the finish of the stock rims

i have been visiting home depot for a large 8 bucks 3M filter for my car, snip snip and it traps the dirts and even bateria!! at 100 Micron (i think)

BTW doesn't most filter block the outside air from coming in only? so if i smoke in the car, it wouldn't help? (recirculation usually doesn't pass thru the filter)

I believe these are accessory prices meaning it is the price you find when buying parts at the parts counter at your Mazda dealership or similarly would be the "technical" cost of "Dealer installed options".

This is what I did with my 2K Celica (RIP). Got the 3M one from Home Depot for like $10-15 and was able to cut it up into 4 square pieces that fit perfectly inside my cabin air filter.

I plan to do this for the 8 as well.

Question: anyone know were the access to the cabin air filter is? My Celi's was located behind the glove box.

I have heard that some dealers might be able to order the accessories directly from Japan, is that true? If not, what's the best way to get them from JP?

Ordered My Accessories - OUCH!

I ordered my accessories today. I just knew they were going to stick it to me somewhere:

Car Cover..........................$250.00
Cover Cable Lock................$10.00
Shock Sensor Upgrade........$55.00.......$135.00 installed!
MP3 Player.........................$325.00......$611.9 7 installed!
MP3 Panel............................$20.00

I'm getting charged more to install the sensor upgrade than the part itself. Ughhh...I have a headache.

Did the dealer know the part numbers for the accessories? I'm afraid I'm going to have to go armed with the scans of the accessories brochure so that my clueless salesman will take my word for it. 2 weeks ago, I went to the dealer to ask them if they heard anything about accessories, and he shook his head. Hopefully, he or the sales manager will be better informed now.
