go to the parts dept. they should have the brochures and prices already, ours has all that info..

Actually, in order to roll the accessories into my purchase order, I had to get what the dealer here calls a "We Owe" slip from the salesman. Ha gave me the blank form, and I filled in everything using the part #s from the back of the accessories brochure. Oh yeah, I also had to write "(Customer Pays)", so they don't accidentally give it to me for free

Edit: Oh, and after that he walked it over to parts to get all the pricing and place the parts order.

Yep. Also worth pointing out that even though I'm handy with tools and what not, only dealer-installed parts are covered by warranty - not customer-installed parts. That, plus the lack of info concerning the parts and installation led me to bite the bullet and hand it all over.

Edit: Also, the MP3 player is a new head unit, not just a pop-in module. I'm sure the first problem encountered with the AudioPilot would be blamed (by the Service Dep.) on customer install of the head unit.

This is a question for Yuhki. I stumbled upon your write-up on removing the audio unit. Too bad Babelfish doesn't translate it Was this hard? I'm pretty experienced with audio installs. I just don't want to mess up the interior pieces since it's a new car. Never worked on an interior of a 30k car before. I would think it's definitely worth my $300 to install the MP3 player myself.

Don't know about US prices. In Australia, MP3 is about $500 extra and MDLP is about $800

$300 for installation.... what kind of mechanics you have there in US? $100K a year Mechanics... Charging WAY TOO MUCH... I rather install it myself. A simple plug in and play, easier than making up a computer

Question:
Since it's from the dealer, I assume you get to keep the original rims? If so, then maybe it will be worth it, there's folks (even some on this forum) which would buy the old rims? The stock rims are quality and light weight ~20lbs.

this smae question was asked to me by another person about the mps player. if he bought and had a dealer install the mp3 player does he get the old one back. the answer is yes, but you will probably have to ask for it back first. dont just assume you will get it back. pretty much just like any other parts. when a dealer replaces any part they throw away the old part just out of habit so if you want the old part you have to ask for it BEFORE they do the work. not after because if you ask for it afterwards it might be too late.
