Hawaii Turbo Action

I'm inept when it comes to specialty auto shops in my own home state... mainly because its filled with ricers, etc. thus I stay away, but anyway I digress....

I was wondering if any of you Hawaii RX-8 owners are considering the GReddy turbo?

If you are, do you know what shop is most capable on island to install such turbo? I know there are many performance shops around, but which of them could actually take care of a ROTARY and turbo?

And lastly, if you do install said turbo, will you PLEASE contact me! I definitely wanna check it out. I'll buy you lunch! Hehehehe....

Wassup Nut! I was considering getting the turbo kit from Greddy, but I think I'm just going to hold up till the end of the year for more FI kits to come out. I'm really interested in the Hymee Supercharger or that Axial one. If I did order that Greddy kit I was going to do the install myself. But if you wanted to get a shop to do it, than I would probably let Vakamon Motorsports do it since they are a Greddy dealer. By the way what kind of mods have you done to your 8?

Yea, I was thinking Vakamon too.. but I'm not sure on their rotary experience, but who knows. I'm probably gonna play it safe and wait till my warranty elapses.

Not much mods so far.. Installed an RB Pipe in Dec, and a RP Short Shifter is on its way. Other than that.. nada. How bout you?

I got JIC FLT-A2 coilovers on mine. Been kind of hesitant on buying stuff for the car. Don't know what I want to buy. Thinking of picking up a set of rims for my car since my rear tires are already bald. I'll just have to wait, gotta pay for my tickets that I just got this past Tuesday. Howz this, $287 for illegal tint, I'm lucky he only gave me a ticket for one window, and another $70 for no recon.

K-den!

The place right next to Vakamon (forgot their name) specializes in rotaries. Last time I went past their shop they had 3 FD RX-7's in the garage. Same building, just on the other end from Vakamon.

But I'm keeping my car stock. I'm happy with it as is. I'll wait for Mazda to produce a true Mazdaspeed RX-8 and trade in for one of those. Or if the MS 8 uses a Turbo or Supercharger, have the dealer install the MS parts so it's covered under warranty.

Good info.. thx Hachi...

I'm with you though on the wait for a possible Mazda built turbo/sc, however, thats still a dream. The way I see it, if one is not produced by the time my warranty is up, I'll probably opt for whatever aftermarket FI is best... that's if the RX-7 is not out by then hehehe...

Dont get me wrong, I love my 8, but would love a ***** out power rotary even more.. :p
