Picked it up last Tuesday. '04 Velocity Red, 6-sp, Sport Pkg, Rear Spoiler, Spare Tire. Got the car for dealer invoice (and double checked it on Edmunds) less the $3,00 in rebates & dealer incentives. The dealer ate the documentation, etc.

I bought it in Missouri (McKay Motors in Jefferson City), and live in Illinois so I'll do the registration & sales taxes here at home. Took Amtrak from St. Louis to Jefferson City (and that was actually a very pleasant experience).

Drove it home Wed, taking Rt. 100 through Herman MO and the wine country along the Missouri River. Wow - what a fun drive (always within posted limits of course).

Anyway got home, gave it it's first bath, and put it in the garage.

Now to go register it, get the personalized plate, etc.

Anyway - so far so great!!

Now that I'm part of the group, I almost feel like a group hug ;-)

 

Congratulations and welcome to the club!! I have taken that drive many times before (lived in St. Louis for 10 years) although never in my 8... Where exactly in Illinois?? I lived near Belleville/SAFB. Anyway, congratsD:D

That's cool. Back in Dec, McKay had 2 red 04's left. 1 of them is now in my garage.
