old news...it seems they've been trying to sell that car since before the article in modified ma came out:p

 

Any clue why they're trying to sell it? (or having trouble selling)

 

no idea...it was on e-bay for sale a year ago for like 70k+...but no on ebought it then. I just don't think anyone wants to buy a car that has that much power...not very good for a daaily driver i guess. But i dunno. Guess we coudl just call and ask them.

I know when they first did made the car...they offered to drop a 20B into your rx-8 for about $43k.....but the price was a lill too high for most peoples blood. But if anyone is seriouse about haveing this car...you might want to go that route since you already have an 8:D

 

Who would like to buy a car with motor-life on 30000 and less miles???To make a 3 Rotor Renesis would be safer and cheaper...This acosta car should do some very good times i belive though....

 

I don't think anyone's buying it because the car never got ran, there are no numbers, nothing, it's all smoke and mirrors so far. There is no credibility to the car, so nobody wants to take the risk.

 

It's still pretty cool. Wonder how many of the OEM systems on the car work?

 

HAH!! My wifes already got 2 speeding tickets in my un-modded 8. With all that hp, it'd be scary. :D

 

The engine mod (along with chassis strengthening, and pretty much everything else (bigger rims, reveised tranny, even interior) is now $60K on their website. I would love to get this car as a plaything, but as a primary car that is ridiculous. They actually have had it tested in this months turbo. It put out 950 whp now !!! but it was gasping at the end, they are looking to put a bigger (R-Trim) turbo on it. Crazy !

 

my understanding from the various print it has received is that the a/c and all that still work, would be fun to buy it, make it look stock (or close) amd then show up at places and blow people's minds

 

Only if you have a day car..This could be a very good toy!!!
Just for USA people though...I had asked them when they lanch it and they had told me that if i wanted them to get here in GREECE and make the mods in my 8 i was needed to pay 120000$.Thats 3new high power RX8s in Greece :D

He also had told me some numbers...I don't belive anything before sheets or vids but i can tell you the numbers he told me...

800+whp 640torque and 0-60 in 1.7sexs or secs whatever you like :D :D...The better one the car revs to 11000rpms and the life of the motor would be arround 40000ml(i don't remember this good..I am bored to see my emails.. )

 

Because It's an 800hp Rotary. If it were a piston engine it would have sold already.

3 rotor engines are rare items..

 

this car is amazing, and everthing functions just like from the dealer.

rumors had it that someone offered to buy it and bought it through ebay, but didn't had the funds to back it up or something. All due respect to Acosta motorsport 20b rx8, but it did nothing for the rx8 or the people that drives it. Who has 40 grand to put on a motor? If they spend some more time getting potential out of the renesis I be singing a different tune. But anyone can drop a 20b in a car and make a lot of hp out of it, same cant be said regarding with the renesis. This car is just a dyno queen, its just brute HP. Sorry that just don't impress me.

 

This car IS a three rotor. As the poster above says, a 20b.

You didn't read what i said..Its is easier to make a 3Rotor Renesis than change the whole motor-thing..And besides Rx8 is a new car and its motor is a unique thing...Why to change it???
