Turbonator

Sry im a newb and i was just wondering if the turbonator (turbnator.com) will actually add more hp and increase the mpg and will it b able 2 b installed on the rx-8?

Big time snake oil. If it were that easy don't you think it would come that way from the factory? It does the opposite by restricting the intake flow. If it worked it would be on every race car in the world, it is on non.

Uh guys, I hate to break it to you, but it does actually work to free up a few horsepower.

You mount it on the center of the dash, and calibrate it 45 degrees left of center. The airflow produces a thermodynamic reaction with your bio-electrolytic epidermal emissions to produce an evaporative endothermic effect, thus reducing or even negating the cooling demand placed on the freon compressor, which as we all know will reduce drag on the engine and provide some additional power.

Baron, tnx I didn't know about that. Can I use two to any advantage or would that just cancel out the whole effect?

Using 2 would actually cause a flux incompacitant effect, thus negating existance. Please don't.

Forget all this turbonator stuff. Just go with the Flux Capacitor and be able to go to different points in time.

Yes, you can upgrade to dual twin parallel sequentials, but it's probably not the best bang for your buck. You need to at least make sure you have the optional phase-change inductance intercooler first.



There are two schools of thought on the recommended location for the intercooler. The traditional location for OEM's and most aftermarket installers is directly in front of the turbo's airflow to maximize thermaldynamic convectance. However, due to packaging considerations I am currently developing my own alternate mounting location, which should give more immediate and direct thermal convectance, without having to drill any mounting brackets. I can't give away too many details until I get my patent, but I am tenatively referring to it as a "Transtesticular Dihydrogen-Oxide Phase Change Intercooler".

I wanted to get design input from Shelley's_Man and Rotarygod since they are pretty sharp and both in Houston too, but they haven't returned my PM's. And SEMA wouldn't let me set up a booth when they heard my idea. What's up with that?

I can imagine that the phase change might not be limited to the dihydrogen oxide that is present inside the unit shoud the intercooling effect be, well, over-effective.
There could be some latent dihydrogen oxide present on the surface of the scrotal-integument.

Ever see someone lick a metal handrail outside in the winter time?

She's a lot younger then me and needy.
The slightest chip in my tune up could be loss of image and more.

I actually know two people who use it on their Civc's.

They get an increase of 4 mpg and more power.

The Rx 8 creates a lot of air suction, so it may not work that well.
Those devices are for low air flow vehicles.

I would expect you to get better power due to better burning in the combustion chamber, but the ECU will probably not allow you to get any better milage.

I met two people with RX 8's that have the Turbonator.

They claim it works. I had one in 1975 and it worked on my big V8.

I have hack lots of question about it.. if it just as they claim... that would be perfect.
just imagine less then 100bucks u can gain hp also improve mpg..
but truly I agree what u said .. it may not work much on rx-8.. o even doesn't work..
nvm.. if u don't mind tell us more about the storys u hear from the 2 ppls u mention about...

You would use two if its on a V engine that has dual throttle bodies (Like the 300ZX).

Start up a turbocharged car and let it idle and take off the charge pipe from the turbo and see how much air the turbo is blowing just at idle. Consider how this much air flow does not even increase pressure into the engine, and this is just at idle, imagine how much air is flowing when the turbo is on boost and common sense should make you realize there is no way this type of devise could increase airflow into an engine.

^^^Personally I would wait until I was old enough to drive before I would worry about increasing the performance of a car I don't have, but that's just me.
