the bose tweeter. A BOSE system isn't like a normal speaker system where you can just replace a particular driver with a better one, and you'll have better sound. You either replace it all, or nothing. The bose tweeters play both midrange and highs, where as a normal tweeter will just play highs. Thus, replacing it, you'll actually be loosing some of your midrange. I say replace the whole system if you don't like it. (My $0.02)

Try an Image Dynamics NX-30...those work out great and you can get them as a direct replacement with minimal amount of effort...
