Tinting vs. antenna
Tinting vs. antenna
I plan to tint my sides, and rear windows, but am paranoid about ruining the antenna reception- i'd like to go with a metallic tint to ensure non fading- I don not have a nav, so am not worried about that- any one have thoughts- issues with the radio post tint?
Thanks

Mine seems to work fine, still clear reception, but with Clear Channel owning the majority of the radio stations, and the limited selection of music you hear, I opt for CD's 99% of the time, unless I want to hear the traffic report, but I usually look at the traffic cameras online before I leave anyway.
BTW they the brand Sunguard on my windows.

go for the metal tint, the tint goes inside the window, and your antenna is inside the rear glass, so it's not going to have issues.
the navi is inside the car between the two rear speakers, which is why the metal tint stops it's reception.

I had the same concern when I had my windows tinted. I asked the guys applying it, they said with the metal content for what I was getting should not be a problem...now with it applied for about 5 months, they were right. Guaranteed for as long as I own it. The tint allows for 35% light. The maximum tinting allowed by law in NC.
