Eh. Doesn't quite make the power.

However, Mazda has alot of faith in Hydrogen + rotary. We'll see what the future holds, even though I think that the key to hydrogen is NOT combustion.

I saw a video of a new fuel source at work the other day, pretty awesome it takes h20 and coverts it to hh0 and the release of energy powers the car somehow, the scientist who invented it converted a ford escort to use water as its power source, using the stock engine, and using 4 ounces of water traveled........are you ready for this........ 100 miles....pretty amazing......too bad he didnt use a renesis huh, I could see our fuel economy going way up, and when your out just go get the hose.

So is it a bad idea to buy a petroleum-only car right now? Will we see this technology in the next year or two? Or are we talking 5-10 years?

Funny...I'd get flamed if I asked this question in a new thread...

"Use the search!!!"

And then when I use the search to bring up a topic of interest, users are still annoyed. No pleasing you guys, huh?

Too many have too much invested in a petroleum market to pull the rug out from under it overnight - at least here in the US. You'll see it happen in other countries first.

i'd rather have an rx8 that runs on straight ethanol or e85. i dont think that hydrogen will ever be an economical choice as a fuel. the biggest problem with it is that the energy required to produce it is enormous and expensive. on top of that, storing hydrogen is difficult because hydrogen atoms are so small that they leak very easily. maybe HHO is the answer to all that. ethanol/bio deisel are the next step imo
