I agree with titaniumgrey unless you have connections on bodywork and paint ( which I did) and the kit delivered and installed cost me 750.00 but it is by no means a factory kit fit and finish. It was alot of heartache getting it put on and making it look decent. You are better off ordering the aerowerks unless you have connections and are willing to help out with the install and such.

"better off"... The two people I've met that got the aerowerks kit have had some fitment issues, as well as melting from aftermarket exhaust.

From my second hand experience, you can get the areowerks front and side skirts, but get the real MS diffuser.

you get what you pay for..... Why put a $290 body kit on a $30,000+ car?

sold the kit to some dude that wanted to put it on a ford probe ... (he works at a body shop I think)

Anyways, I got the real MS kit dude , pay the extra and get the better shizz ... I decided not to go cheap on my car , anyways , the front bumper for the MS kit got fucked during shipping so I am stuck with the rear and side skirts , so I just ordered another MS front bumper and while I am waiting for the stupid insurance claim to go through with DHL (90 days they said ... ) , I bought a aerowerks front bumper ...

I pray to god that the aerowerks front bumper isn't that bad ... cause I got friends at the body shop that would hook me up with free paint and all .. but I'd feel bad if they had to work on it ....

My advice to you ... don't go cheap , stay away from cheap fiberglass kits, places to stay away from any EBAY fiberglass body kit , this includes , raceon usa , Auto accessories online , option racing , evolution something something , all of them basically , they all suck donkey *** .... Just buy the real kit or try something else , maybe a veilside kit , don't get the fake replica one on ebay tho ... that one has horrible fitment also , take a look , someone was trying to sell one before ....

And all the fiberglass kits on ebay all come from 1 distrubuter in california , And there is a horrible difference in the kits that come out of the distrubuter , some are bent , some clear corners are crooked, some are smaller , some are bigger. Just stay away from the fiberglass kits on ebay, maybe rotary extreme's fiberglass kit is ok, but I don't know .... it seems ok from what I see on their site ... its actually smooth and not bumper like the kits they sell on ebay ....

And leegina, 750 ... you must have gotten one of the first batches, cause 2 other people on this site have that kit and they got the first batch which was ok ...

Then came the crappy ones that me and flipstream got , which were all bent outta shape and bumpy on the clear corners.

Oh ya .... other things to stay away from , carbon fiber hoods on ebay , except the one made by VIS , those other ones fade so badly in the sun , they look good at first ,... but give it a few weeks in 80-90 degree weather , and it looks like you painted the hood black with a spray can ....

Basically , only buy name brand stuff you can trust off ebay ... and be sure they arn't replicas

Just take this advice ... I've been tru 2 carbon fiber hoods , and finally settled on a VIS hood , about 2 body kits ... so I have experience with this stuff ... Don't ask how much money I wasted on the car ... cause it just keeps on rising and going and going ... I can't even list my mods in my signature anymore .... not enough room ....

Worth also saying that even the non-oem kits will require some work. I spent 4 hours on the Veilside D1 GT skirts to make them fit properly, even needed some filler in a couple of places to finish them off before sending for painting.

The INGs bumper needed some minor tweaking around the clear corners too, to make them sit in the correct place as the stock ones. The rest was top quality though, same or smaller (but even) panel gaps with the bonnet / fenders.

Just got it back from the bodyshop, so waiting for a dry evening to fit it then my 4 months of waiting / tweaking etc will be over and the car will finally be kitted!

i'm going to tell you right now that these knock off kits look terrible!! The middle part of the side skirts bow out in the middle. The rear valance is the worst! The fitment is horrible. I saw these kits on the 8 in person during the tustin meat in california a few weeks back. If you want to put that cheap crap on your car go ahead. I know it will not even come close to my car.

titaniumgrey - 750 was the kit delivered and and painting and installation. I got the Raceon kit and for around 450 with shipping and 300 for painting and install but by no means do I endorse their product. It looks about a B+ but that is it. I did not have the funds to get the real kit and was lucky enough that the guy that did the bodywork is a good friend and knows his Sh%t and made it look good but he spent alot of time on it. But this experience has taught me that no matter what I will never buy an aftermarket kit for any car. Too much trouble......

Dang you gotta thank your friend for that one , my friend wouldn't even touch the kit , he said it was too much work , anyways , when you got the kit , was the clear corner holes all bumpy and crappy ?

I went to race on USA place 2 weeks ago to check out their place .... it was a garage in a house .... but they get the kits from a distrubuter same as Autoaccessories online and the other ones .. and in their ebay ads I thought they were selling the blue FRP kits , but thats not what I saw .. it was the same AAS kits.

Anyways did the clear corners have bumps ? The ones I saw at race on usa "headquarters" cough garage , had bumps just like the one I received from AAS , and they told me they have the same distrubuter as them.

Hmmz within time tho , we'll have quality items for our rx-8's ... it's just that our cars arn't "main stream" right now, and people who invest in making parts for us don't exactly make that much money. I am sure in a few years or so , our cars will be like the RSX type S , parts cheaper than our prices ,and quality parts also. But that also means seeing one of us at every stop light almost ....

Well, fiberglas isn't all bad. It's how you apply it. The chopper gun is obviously the worst, since you don't have an even distribution of material. I love handlaid fiberglas, for strength and weight purposes. Of course, nothing beats organic materials (plywood). :D

J/K. Also, urethane is also good, because it can be re-molded if ever crushed.

In the end the OEM MS kit is priced well, and the fit and finish is factory... When you go to sell the car it will add value not take away...
