I thought I was seeing things or actually not when I didn't see the reflection of my passenger side headllamp earlier tonight. I was wondering if any of you guys have already changed one of them . If so how exactly did you get in there to do it?. And if anybody knows the answeer to this question; will an rx-8 with only 7,000 miules be warranteed for such a ridiculous item? Fill me in guys, as always thank you for your input.

 

I asked my dealer on Saturday and they told me they warranty the HID system in full until 40k. I'm not sure if it changes dealer-to-dealer but I wouldn't imagine so.

 

Yes - I'm curious to know if this was the Xenon/HID lights or the Halogen lights?

 

I would not recommend changing the discharge lamps by yourself. The lamps are excited by a 25,000 Volt electric field. The replacement procedure is complicated just to get to the bulbs.

Let the dealer do it. Especially if its under warranty.

yes indeed they are xenons and the car is at the dealer as we type. will keep you guys posted.
