How do you manage attachments

With the recent change to the forum I noticed that jpg attachments that were previously displayed in a post now show only as link. I have done several DIY threads and this change is a killer to the value of the thread.

Is there any way to selectively restore automatic display of the jpg attachment with each post? If not can large thumbnails be added in place of the link? If so, how?

It is a little better. However, many of the DIY threads still just show links not thumbnails. Even in my "Clear Side Markers" thread some jpgs showed yesterday as thumbnails while others didn't. Today more show as thumbnails but still not all.

Also, while a thumbnail is better than a link for a DIY it would be nice to have something a little larger to show in the post, say 1/2 or 1/3 the size of the original. That way you don't have to be flipping windows between the verbiage in the post and the detailed picture.

All DIY threads should show as thumbnails now. I had to rebuild the thumbnail DB. As for the size - They will remain the smaller size. We do have dial-up users - Believe it or not

Oh, I believe it. But I must agree that it would be nice to at least have the option of expanding all the images in a particular thread. Makes it a damned sight easier to print out the entire DIY thread - with readable images inline - to carry out to the garage.

Actually, I even use dialup occasionally (business travel). I can understand the issue.

Any chance of a USER/CP option so an individual can pick to display the thumbnail or the full image in the post?

I realize I'm tagging on to an old thread, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE find some way to make this a user config option.

I understand the desire to please those with dial up, but those of us with broadband are now suffering. The thumbnails are so inconvienant to click through.

Thanks,
Andrew
