I got my B&B midpipe recently and attached it to my Greddy Catback. I notice now that there is a pretty annoying rattle coming from the rear spring loaded flange of the midpipe. Due to the crummy design of the midpipe, I had to dremmel the holes on the catback slightly so the bolts from the mipipe would fit.

I don't know if the slight dremmeling is causing the rattling or the increased diameter of the pipe is touching the frame.

Has annyone else experienced this with aftermarket exhaust? Can I weld another hanger somewhere to stop the rattle?

 

Yup. Check your heat shield, it's most likely hitting the muffler can on the side behind the driver, and possibly on the passenger side as well. Solution involves anchoring the heat shield away from the muffler. Check the DIY forum for details, in this thread.

Thought I would bring this post back up...my exhaust cans arent as big as the borla one talked about in that post. I heated my exhaust up today until I heard the rattle and felt above the mufflers with my hand (I had gloves on) and I think its coming from farther up the pipe somewhere. I didn't have a jack handy today but tomorrow I will jack it up and try to locate the problem. Nobody else with greddy catback or B&B midpipe has this problem?
