Third brake light cover

i have seen the third brake light cover on sale on ebay and have also seen a picture of it on this website. I have looked using the search to find the pictures again but was unsuccessful. Can anyone tell me a thread where i can find some pictures or even post some pictures if they have them?

I've seen taht as well, don't get it, not the one off ebay at least.

Get the one from Polak Graphics, i have the caliper decals as well as the brake light decal and it looks very sweet (so people say )

Polak Graphic Brake Decal > Ebay Decal (its all bubbly looking)

The blacking out of the light and trying to form the RX-8 doesn't work, it is not correct when using light. Take a picture of your brake light lit from 10 ft. or more, post it on here and then compare it with the one that I designed and tell me which is superior. I can tell you the answer now. Look at my avatar, you can read the one I designed from a block away.

The reason is? It lets the light form the RX-8 Logo instead of blacking it out to form it. This is the correct method of lighting, IMHO, although both methods have a place.

sorry but i have to disagree.. i think this is a much nicer statement ! i mean

1. iT needs to be legal.. not sure yours is. !

2. it needs to look good when off to .. and again I am not sure about yours.. sorry.

but to each his owe.

1. It's as legal as any third brake light. Do the research. What size is the law? If there were a legal size, they would ALL have to be of a certain dimension and they would ALL look the same. What is the difference from masking in black the negative of the logo or masking in black the postive of the logo when it comes to legality.

2. Looks good when off??? Install it in the stealth manner and you do not even SEE it when it is off. Secondly, install it in front of the red lens and it looks good because it is the logo in black. How about taking a look at the pics below. There you will see what they look like lit, unlit, stealth mode and non-srealth mode. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :D

I have D MENAC 7's 3rd light mod in my rx-8. It looks great.

A sticker with the lettering "RX-8" will not produce anywhere as nice an effect.

Any sticker like the Polak or Denny's method will be illegal if the state or city disallow anything to affect the 3rd brake light.

So either both need to be banned or both are allowed. IMHO

I decided to go for Denny's method against PoLak's is that I want the extra sheath mode it gives...

btw it look more subtle than in picture -- the blocked part/bit still transmit light and you see a more intensive RX-8 and less intense light surround.

Dennis said you need 4 mask together to completely block the surrounding area.. what a smart man :p

well how it is this

the d mod is more visiible from far so when your breaking ppl know that it is an 8 from 10 - 20 feet if i had my polak one still installed they would have to be tail gating me to know what it is... and those pictures do it no justice because it must be taken on a straight angle or it looks like it is cut off which it is not

this picture does it no justice because it is on my cell phone back ground it is my pic i will post pics around 11 at night to show you how it reall is

Granted you can see his from further away however, how useful is this in practical situations. Are you more likely to use your brakes when you’re on the highway cruising at 80mph when someone is 10-20 feet behind you or when you’re coming to a stop or at a stop in which case they will be on your ***.

It’s all a matter of taste I like mine more I’ve seen cars with both mine and his installed they look stellar.

Both does the same thing and does it well. It is a matter of choice.

Well PoLak's RX-8 logo can go to many places besides the 3rd brake light but Dennis' can't!
I use Denny's as I don't want it to be shown unless the brake is applied - simple as that

i think its peoples own personal choice
the thing we should worry about is the police
giving us a problem with this mod.
