Question Ric Shaw Piggyback Ecu For Rx8

I'm just curious if anyone here in North America installed the ECU?

If yes, any good/bad opinions?

Thanks

I think the only setback with this mod. is they dont really come programed.you would have to make your own maps ,also i never seen any dyno runs on this?

I don't think generic maps work. What works for someone in Canada at one elevation under certain humidity and ambient temperatures doesn't always work for someone in Miami at sea level in 90° 88% humidity weather.

I know someone in Miami with it, he swears by it. I have also seen dyno runs for it from him. After a base line run of 182 (RE Intake, Exhaust, No cat) he was able to bump it to 190+ with only mild tuning. Haven't spoken to him in a while so I figure he's already improved that. I remember he also bumped the torque up by 8lbft

sto16,

I am the someone that Alex is talking about. So far, I think I'm the only one in the US with Ric's Piggy-back. Ric's product works great.

Read the tread below. It's got pictures and install information. If you have any questions, just let me know.

O.T. sto16... are those JUST the side aero flares you have on your car (not full appearance package)?

Hi Japan8, yes I only have the side aero flares. I find the car looks longer.

I fix my car for me, not for anyone else. ;-)

BTW: I changed my name to SilverBullitt

Cheers.
