Unhappy Hi, I'm an idiot

I have had my 8 for two weeks. Everything is great, couldn't be happier with this car.

I did something totally stupid today though. While parking, I hit the curb ever so slightly, and now there is a half inch scrape on my front passenger rim. ARRHHGGG!!!

I have been so carefull with everything, and today, just f@#cked up. DOH!

This is the first car where I have had nice rims (other than a 4x4). Any ideas on how to fix the scrape? Other than buying new wheels?

Sunlight silver (an RX-8 color) touch up paint is said to be a nearly exact match.

Welcome idiot. j/k... couldn't resist. Not scraping a curb is pretty difficult. It's bound to happen.

aluminum is pretty easy to work with actually...they make a special "wheel putty" that you can use as filler and then paint and clear over the damage.

or just use it as an excuse to buy some volks

epitrochoid,

Where would one find "wheel putty"? Surely not at Kragen or the like... Online perhaps?

If it is just the paint, wet sand a little than some rubbing compound and do as Omicron said and touch up with paint...

Yeah, it's a little chewed up, so a little wet sanding may be the thing, then some touch up. It's not that bad, but I know it's there and it bothers me.

Yes the wife just curbed the two passenger side rims on the Mazda 6. Its her car but I am pretty **** about the cars so she gave the ok to order new rims. Man my eyes hurt for searching for new rims and comparing prices!
