Centre display broken
Centre display broken
My RX8 centre display (above the radio) has gone kaput just showing randoms lines. I've definitely narrowed it down to the display itself and not the radio faceplate separating from the radio box thing or the wires themselves going up to the display from the radio.
So I tried to re flow some of the solder joints connecting the LCD to the PCB as some of them looked a bit suspicious and that did make it work for a bit but it eventually went back to just showing the lines so it was probably just a fluke, however I found by sort of twisting and putting pressure in random spots the display would start working again. Which makes me believe there could be some cold solder joints below the LCD. But to get to this PCB I would need to de solder like 50+ pins from the LCD to gain access. Just wondering has anyone ever done this before to any avail or am I wasting my time.
And no I won't just "buy a new one" cause that's cheating and people want stupid money for them.
