Mazdaspeed Wing (pic) - Clipping Brackets

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has trimmed the brackets on the Mazdaspeed/ imitation wing? The previous owner color matched the wing and I like how it looks. However, the rear window visibility gets cut in half with how high it sticks up. I have tried adjusting the wing with the factory hole options to make it a bit better but visibility is still poor.

I looked at the brackets and was thinking of shaving off about 2+ inches with a dremel and then drilling new holes for the bolts to go into. If no one has done this, I’ll be sure to post some before and after pictures for everyone. 👍

Dont so that. Just accept the more limited visibility. Truthfully, after some driving its not very noticable as you start utilizing your side mirrors more without really thinking about it. Youd be shocked the level of awareness you still have even with the spoiler at its normal height. Your brain will learn to ignore the spoiler and see past it okay

Agreed, my uncle took a look at it as he was going to use his Dremel for the job - he too brought up your point.

You'd also be destroying a $1000 wing... If it's authentic Mazdaspeed.

I don't believe it is. Although the quality on the wing itself is good and solid - the brackets don't look heavy duty or high quality IMO.

I had dabbled in the idea, even had some aluminum L stock I had laying around cnc/milled to play with it.

In the end the legit MS brackets and the feast power risers where IMO better locations

Longer ones would also be another option. The main drawback of the stock height of the Mazdaspeed wing is that it cuts halfway through the rear window visibility. I find myself either raising or lowering my head to see vehicles coming from a distance.
