Hello guys
I’ve just put on a sohn adapter nad now my 8 won’t start does anyone know what the issue could be? The only thing I unplugged was the battery. Before it started every time with no issue hot or cold. Car has been sitting for about 2 weeks

 

Does it turn but not fire or not turn at all?

 

Yea was turning over but didn’t want to start as if the fuel wasn’t going to the engine.
the reason for it not starting was when I was cleaning the car I saw a obd plugged into the car under the steering wheel I decided to take it off and see what it was, it said trackm8 on top so I thought it might be a tracker, so I left it out and didn’t plug it in. After going through all the steps of me doing the sohn adapter checked everything and the car still didn’t start, something in my head told me maybe it was the obd so I plugged that in and boom starts perfectly 🤔 maybe it was an aftermarket immobiliser? Anyone got something like that in their 8s?

Well if it were me, I would dig through and remove that tracker especially if you bought from a private party. Little concerning that you weren't notified about it. I'd guess it should be right there under the driver dash and probably just spliced between the ignition wires.

 

yea I thought it was a bit strange that he didn’t mention it. I tried finding it on Bluetooth but nothing came up and also through an app but that requires a company log in can’t create an account just like that.
on one side it’s good that I can just take it out and the car won’t start but then knowing that someone can track me is worrying. That’s if it actually is a tracker
