I'm going to check all the wiring and grounds today, but I think it has something to do with the immobilizer. I relocated the battery to the trunk years ago, it's a new battery and starter. New battery cable as well. I think the key card isn't communicating correctly with the car, so it's not letting me start her. Well, she did start yesterday once, drove around the block, came home and parked. Tried again and back to just clicking. This problem began a while ago, but it would mostly start, but every once and a while just click. I would try again and it would start. But then it started going the other way, not starting most of the time, but every once and a while, it would start. Now it's mostly not starting. Also, the key card blinks two red dots after I unsuccessfully try to start the car.
Is there a way to turn off the immobilizer via Versatuner? Do I have to go to Mazda to get the key card/immobilizer fixed? I'm thinking if I ever get her started again, to go straight to Mazda, but it's far away and I don't know if it would suddenly turn off while driving, which has never happened, but would be problematic if it did.

I've got a voltmeter and am getting proper voltage at the starter. I don't think it would be a blown fuse if it starts up occasionally, but I'll check that along with grounds. Sometimes I have to hold the key card right up to the dash to get it to work.
turn the key to the ON position and let the dash fully illuminate. see which lights turn off and which stay on. video it and take note of which ones are solid and which ones are flashing (and how quickly). Go ahead and try to start, and when it doesnt start leave it at the ON position for a good 5-10 seconds before turning it to OFF. Record it all. likely something is dead.
if you have the card style key, have you tried to use your emergency key to start the car? what does it do?
sounds like you are having electrical issues as well. you might want to check that you arent shorting out the positive wire somewhere on your relocation. also check your ground wires. if youre still using my kit, are you using all the ground wires correctly? did you make sure everything is tightened up the way it should be? clean the ground connection points before installing? what battery did you buy to replace the dead/old one? links and pictures.

well that explains it, dam ricky kit. jk buddy but glad you chimed in to help since you would better understand it
Ricky, I apologize for being such an ******* years ago, I had a serious drinking problem and anger issues.
Still running your kit and replaced the battery with the same one you recommended, Deka ETX-30L.
Ironically, she started once today, but when I tried again after, just clicking. I’ve gotten some error codes, the U1900 is consistent, but I’ve also gotten P1260 and B1318 a couple of times.
sounds like its trying to engage starter if its clicking, verify by disconnecting and checking voltage at small wire on starter while attempting to start, could be just a bad starter, also check voltage on big wire while attempting to start (little wire attached) ideally it will be over 9.6v if not its a battery/ cable issue
Lights don't dim, it's a new starter and there is proper voltage everywhere I've looked. I checked all the wires and grounds, the wire to the alternator was loose, but that didn't solve the problem. All fuses are good and getting proper voltage. I read somewhere to check the power going to the trans, haven't done that yet, but will.
My plugs and wires aren't that old, but I'm thinking of replacing them to see if that's it. But I haven't gotten any codes that are related (BHR coils, so I always get P0335).
By the video sounds like starter solonoid droping in and out, i would try jumping 12v to solonoid on starter to verify i cranks consistantly possible bad ignition relay or some other connection on that circuit
BHR coils should not cause any CEL's. Its possible that you have some electrical gremlins in your engine wiring harness. I would look around at the wiring around the coils to make sure nothing got damaged or unplugged. Also where did you put the ground wire connector for the bhr coils (assuming you have the older d585 model). Is the noise filter for your crank angle sensor and engine wiring harness okay? Inspect your crank sensor too, thats critical for starting and errors/issues with that could possibly trip your immobilizer.
