Mapping/reverse engineering of native CAN messages
Useful for logging purposes and whatnot. I've compiled a basic CAN message structure that anyone can piggyback onto to do very fast and totally silent logging. This exceeds anything you'd ever wish of doing via OBD2 queries.
80% of the stuff needed for logging is already present on the bus - only AFR and absolute load are sadly missing. These have to be grabbed by means of OBD2 queries.
