Throwout bearing play??

VA Throwout bearing play??
I am in the middle of a clutch job and noticed there is some play between the clutch fork and throwout bearing. It takes probably 1/8-1/4" of slave cylinder movement to actually begin moving the TB. Is this normal, or should it be tight on there? It is the Exedy OE replacement clutch
