I think I just blew my Apex seals

When I got this car, there were no problems, it has the auxiliary oil reservoir. Since I’ve been driving it, I’ve been adding oil to gas most of the time. In the last thousand miles, I’ve noticed an occasional misfire which new coils and wires did not fix. The last couple days I have noticed hot starting issues. Today I found out that my oil reservoir tank had a seal from the cap sitting on top of the drain. Does this sound like I have blown my Apex seals? And no oil would come out and it hasn’t used up an inch of oil

Get a compression test to be sure. "Apex seals" is what people who don't know rotaries say about rotaries.

Injected/premix oil also helps seal, so running dry can give symptoms without longterm damage. Or with! Only way to know is a comp test.

Typically hot start issues point to
  • 80% of the time engine compression issues
  • dying battery
  • dying alternator
  • old starter (upgraded one is 80$ on amazon)
  • ignition issues (upgrade to LS coil kits ~250$)
It sounds like the car had one of the external oil tanks for the sohn adapter? Allowing that to run dry is not good, but so long as you were premixing in the gas tank 0.5oz/gal the engine should be fine.

When you did the ignition coil changes, did you replace or clean the plugs?

As a rule of thumb any rotary at or above 80k miles is due to be rebuilt. Yes you can run them to 130k+ miles, However, this comes at the cost of damaging seal grooves due to worn out shorter seals.

Did I fix most of my problems? When I cleared the blockage and got oil flowing again a few things changed! First the oil level is constantly dropping and that’s good. Second the eingine now has a bit of a two strokeish smell. Third my misfire has completely disappeared 100 precent. Fourth I haven’t had any hot start issues.

I wish you did a better job of explaining your issue or describing the situation. Pictures? How does any of this relate to blowing apex seals, are you talking about the misfire?

In the end it sounds like the car had an secondary oil tank (sohn kit) that draws in the 2 stroke oil for lubrication. Then somehow this oil tank outlet got blocked, causing your OMP to have issues.
