Hi. I was just jacking up my car on the passengers side. I was going to paint my brake calipers. I put the jack stands in. After about 5 minutes the jack points caved in. The floor of the passengers side is now caved in. Is this still drivable? it wasn't the drivers side. I would appreciate any feedback.

Unless there's a big rust or corroded spot I think you could just pound it back flat.

It doesn't sound like you were on a jacking point.

 

The red circles are where you want the stands, not anywhere within the white lines, I'm not sure why those areas are highlighted

 

I used the rear circled spots, but for the front I always tried to locate them under the lower control arm mounting bolts, (green circles) it just seemed sturdier to me.

 

99% certain these smaller red circles have nothing structural under them considering mine are rusted clear out. Better off on the pinch welds that have an actual structural component under them. Or on the lower control arm bolt as suggested.

 

oh. Not good. I put the stands where it said stand, not the red circles. The passenger side caved in where the floor mats are. I'll put it back into place.

Do you think it is still drivable? I hope people can still sit in the passengers seat.

It's just sheet metal, not structural, unless the door won't close or something you should be fine.
You can take the seat out and flatten it.

 

Nice. Thanks. Just drove it. LOL I didn't fall through. Any one think it will still pass inspection? THere is a bubble in the floor. I'll have to take a mallet to it.

 

I banged down the flooring on the passengers side. I got it flat. Now that underbody metal is all torn apart. Is that rust proof? Will it pass inspection? Any insight will help. I was planning on keeping this car for a little while. Here are some pictures.

I don't see any pics.
You can get a pop rivet gun and a little piece of sheet metal and sealant to patch it.

Some auto part stores may have some to rent out, they're not very expensive if you can't find a rental.
