NC difficulty of replacing Recaro seat covers?

I'm thinking about buying a set of these to replace the OEM covers.
https://ridies.com/product/27377/200...nt-Seat-Covers

Has anyone done this? How hard is it? I've never replaced seat upholstery - only installed covers over top of existing.

TIA!
Chris

If you know what hog rings are and you have lots of time you can do it 🙂
I did the seats in my truck and they took me a long day to do the front seats.

Depending where you live you might find an upholstery place that can do them fairly cheap and save you a lot of work

That looks interesting. I would ask if they can cover the holes by the shoulders on each side. Eliminate the cheap plastic pieces that constantly break. Most of us will never use a harness anyway....

Thanks. I looked up hog rings and how to use them for upholstery. Looks pretty easy ... at least on a 1981 Chevy truck bench seat. I'm sure the RX8 seats will be more complicated.

I already solved that - with plastic pins that keep the two parts together and are barely noticeable when installed.

I would be interested in any details you might want to post. I have seen the DIY thread for using body clips and that looks like a solution, but less than ideal.

IIRC, I used the same solution.
