My 07 36k miles 6spd auto RX8 has never thrown codes, has been upgraded with BHR ign, Walbro fuel pump, etc.

I left neg battery cable off for approx 6 months to not run it down. It's hard to keep batteries up on 2 cars.

So, I've got this bloowp....bloowp noise coming from under car after warmed up which may be the gas emissions vent.

Anyone ever heard this? Could I need a new gas cap?

I've seen tiny spider webs under car and heard they could plug up the emissions vent.

Just ignore until I get a code?

Can you record the sound? Can you localize which part of the car its coming from?

 

It's a mild water drip sound, but no drip. I heard it right under center back of car only after driving for awhile. Doesn't occur at startup. I hear one needs to take the diff off to put new emissions part. i always thought the emissions vent was in the fuel tank. Fresh air should come through the gas cap as it's used?

Sorry, I'm not good at getting a recording. On a loud car it would never be heard. This is a 1st world problem for sure.

 

It's kinda hard to advise what it could or couldn't be without hearing what you're hearing. A phone video would do in a pinch.

Sure it's not the air conditioner drain? It's roughly around the cat area.

I can't think of what emissions part would be above the diff.
