FL Introducing my Stormy Blue 2008!

Posted this on Reddit, so figured that I'd jump on here and officially introduce my 2008 RX-8 that I affectionately refer to as Ellie (or Eleanor when she wants to act up)!

Purchased from Cam at Pettit in May and maintained, modded, etc., by the good folks at Pettit Racing. She's got 176,000 miles on her and about 56,000 on the motor. Got her with the standard Pettit motor upgrades/tweaks and I believe Cam mentioned he used a light-weight flywheel when he did the clutch.

Since I've gotten her I've done all the little things to get her back to as close to perfect mechanically as possible (no dash lights!), driver's side window motor, dealt with a fuel pump issue, rear o2 sensor, AC compressor, BHR midpipe, Pettit Trak Pro Coilovers, and a Pettit short-shifter. Still want to finish the exhaust (Racing Beat), get a racing seat in there so I can get lower in the car for a helmet and get her on the track (I'm 6'6"), and maybe paint her in time.

Love my RX-8! Just a note, not a Pettit shill but this is my first rotary experience, they've been nothing but wonderful to me, and I wouldn't recommend anyone other than Cam and Pettit to work on a rotary in my area.

Thats a great looking car! And being formerly owned by Pettit, it has a great history and was likely properly maintained! Hows the interior given the mileage? Still as great as the exterior?

She's got about 176,000 miles on her and about 56,000 on the motor. I've put almost 7,000 miles on her since I've had her. Tan interior is in great shape, a little wear on the driver's seat but I'd like to replace it with a racing seat anyways. Exterior is in good shape, but these pics don't highlight the wear on the roof, spoiler, etc. Keep her nice and shiny and it's hard to notice, lol. Regardless, a wonderful 8 that's already brought me a lot of joy (and fits my kids comfortably)! Thanks for the kinds words!

You're very welcome! The car really looks great! You really don't see many in this color and its a shame really. Its beautiful! The S2 wheels are a nice touch as well.

That is a crazy blue. I'll have to be on the lookout for that color for my next 8. Cheers on a clean car.
