Hi, n00b here,i am trying to get an RX8, seller has sent me pics, but just wanted to get some feedback from experienced peeps on year





I specifically wanted to know if this (pictured) version has the updated engine (oil pump upgraded)

 

From what I can tell it's a S1 and it doesn't look like the omp Sohn adapter is installed.

 

The one shown is a series one lower power.
Series two had the updates to the engine's oil injectors

I suggest that you read the new/potential owners thread and then read it about 10 more times

It's either a base automatic or 5 speed manual 2004-2008. If you actually want this in automatic then this is the correct car. If it's a 5 speed manual, pass and look for a 6 speed. Make absolute damn sure it has a recent compression test.
