ON Thinking of buying an RX-8

Hey everyone,

I'm 17 and heavily looking into a first car. I have been studying the rx-8 for a couple of months now, and have stumbled across a 2004 GT (auto) with just under 80,000km on it. He is asking for 7.8k, but I think I can get lower, right? He said the engine hasn't been replaced, but it has been very well maintained.

Let me know what you guys think

Not to discourage you or anything, but this vehicle is very heavy on maintenance. If you have no room to work on it on your own, I suggest a different type of vehicle. Also if you're worried about fuel economy, you definitely want to pass on this type of vehicle.

Otherwise, series 1 RX8's go for really cheap. Even more so if its auto. If its truly under 80k and still on the original engine, asking 6-7G's should be more than fair. Provided the rest of the vehicle is properly maintained and doesn't show any signs of molestation.

Not a great first choice, especially in AT.
Gutless, and underpowered, high maintenance, bad gas mileage.
Think long and hard before buying one, and DO NOT buy one without a rotary specific compression test.
2 sets of 3 numbers for each rotor face.

Read this thoroughly;
