I see questions all the time asking about putting series 2 lights on a series 1 car, I was wondering about the opposite. I have a series 2 and the PO just used nightshades to darken the taillights rather than addressing the problem. Long story short most the LEDs on one and a few in the other assembly are dead. No aftermarket suppliers make S2 lights anymore, and I am looking at over $1000 for a new pair. There are aftermarket S1 assemblies themed like an S2 for half the price or less. What would need to happen to make them fit, and would it look awful? I can take care of the electrical, I just want to know how it will look before I invest in a set. Thanks!

 

I would you suggest you wait it out and check a few places like facebook/craigslist regularly for a part out. Finding them for an S1 is pretty easy but I've seen a couple for S2's over the last few months.
