BMW 1 and 2 series

I read that BMW is coming out with a 1 series 4 door, and a 2 series coupe, and an upper model M2 coupe with 300 HP. Anyone have any news or thoughts on this...
Here is a picture of what the M2 should look like

I'venever heard of a 2 series. the one series should be here before too long getting its *** kicked by the discontinued Mazdaspeed Protege and SVT Focus and the rest of the econosports cars.

IMO the 2 series looks great and if BMW's werent so associated with status seeking idiots (i.e. keep the price and performance competetive with the japanese) I would be inclined to check one out.

The 2 series coupe and the M2 look pretty good. I would consider buying one in addition to my 8

i was in the airport recently and read about the m2 at a magazine stand. i'm pretty excited about it, i think it looks great (in pictures)...but that's not saying a whole lot. chevy ssr's look fantastic in pictures...but seen one in real life? hehe

and then our beloved 8 looks better in real life than in pictures.

With 300hp and a lot lighter won't this thing be pushing current M3 numbers for a whole lot less?

From what I have heard, it is most likely going to be a variation of the S54 that powers the current M3. That is an inline 6 making 333 HP for those that didn't know.

Rumor is that it will be priced in the low 30's. If that is true I am one happy camper.
